Process

Challenges rarely sit neatly inside marketing.

I get up to speed through a few candid conversations and a close look at the plans, campaigns, channels, audience evidence and partner work connected to the question at hand.

Then I bring the business goals, audiences and execution into one frame, mapping only as much of the picture as the question requires.

The work might center on positioning, audience strategy, a major initiative, a strategic brief or a broader question about where marketing should go next. Whatever form it takes, the point is a better decision with recommendations that improve what comes downstream.

I spent more than 15 years working on all sides of marketing inside HBO, AMC and Audible—from shaping strategy and growing franchises to directing eight-figure campaigns and leading large cross-functional teams.

Along the way, I learned how hard it is to observe the machine while you’re running it. I also saw the same underlying strategic problems show up in many different forms.
